Stopwatches
Start as many stopwatches as you need, pick the ticket afterwards, and book the time rounded up to the next quarter hour.
Not every hour starts with the right ticket at hand. A call comes in, someone asks for "just a quick look", two things run side by side. Stopwatches catch that time first and let you decide later where it belongs.
They live in the sidebar: click Stopwatches (below Notifications) to open or close the list — docket remembers which you prefer. While one runs, the hand of its clock icon turns.
Start, pause, run several at once
- Click New stopwatch to start one. It's called Stopwatch 1, Stopwatch 2 and so on until you give it a name.
- The button next to each stopwatch pauses and resumes it. Several can run at the same time — each counts on its own.
- With the sidebar collapsed, the clock icon still shows whether one is running; clicking it opens the sidebar with the list.
Stopwatches belong to your account, not to the browser: close the tab or open docket on another computer, and they're still running. Each person sees only their own.
Rename it or correct the time
Click a stopwatch to open it:
- Title — type a name and press Enter. It becomes the description of the time entry later.
- Time — forgot to start it, or to stop it? Type the correct time:
1:07:23,1:07(hours and minutes) or45(minutes). A running stopwatch keeps running from there. - Discard throws the stopwatch away without booking anything.
The clock always shows the time exactly as it was stopped; below it, docket shows what a booking would suggest.
Book it
Click Book…. The stopwatch pauses and the usual time-entry form opens, already filled in:
- Duration — the stopped time rounded up to the next quarter hour (at least 15 minutes). The exact time is shown right next to it, and you can change the duration before saving.
- Ticket — this is where you pick it, now that you know what the time was for.
- Description — the stopwatch's title, unless it still has its default name.
Click Book stopwatch. The time entry is saved and the stopwatch disappears — both together, so nothing is booked twice. If you close the form instead, the stopwatch stays paused and you can book it later.
With an AI app
If you've connected an AI app, it can use your stopwatches too: "Start a stopwatch for the Acme call", "Pause it", "Book the Acme call on the onboarding ticket." It works on the same stopwatches you see in the sidebar.
