Book time with AI

Write down what you worked on in your own words and book the time entries the AI suggests, or have a description written from the ticket.

Instead of filling in the form entry by entry, write down what you did, the way you'd tell a colleague:

2h checkout bug for Lumen, yesterday 45 min wireframes for the onboarding, 30 min emails

docket suggests one time entry per piece of work. Nothing is booked until you book it.

An admin turns it on first

It's off in every workspace until an Admin ticks Book time with AI under Administration → Integrations → AI. The note, the names of your tickets and your comments then go to the AI set there (see External costs for which AI that is).

From a note

  1. In Timetracking or in the dashboard's time card, switch from the form to the wand (Free text with AI) at the top right. docket remembers your choice.
  2. Write what you worked on and for how long, then press Enter or click the wand at the end of the field (Shift+Enter starts a new line).
  3. Each suggestion shows the duration, the ticket, the service and a description you can change right there. The tick (Book) books it, Book all books every complete one. The pencil (Edit) opens it in the form, date included; once saved, you're back at the list.

How the suggestions come about:

  • Tickets: the AI picks from the tickets you booked on in the last 90 days, are assigned to or worked in this week. If none of them fits what you wrote, it suggests none and you pick it with the pencil. It never guesses between two.
  • Days: an entry is on the day selected in the calendar, unless your note names another one (yesterday, on Monday). Then its date is shown with it.
  • Duration: rounded up to the next quarter hour, like everywhere in docket.
  • Service: yours, unless the note says what kind of work it was.

What haven't I booked?

Ask instead of telling: "What did I do today and haven't tracked?", "…this week", "…last month". docket then lists the tickets you worked in during that time (commented, changed, created, closed) without booking time on that day. Each row says what docket found (Found: created · 2 comments) and has a description the AI wrote from it. Type the duration in a row and book it.

A description from the ticket

With a ticket picked in the form, the wand at the end of the Description field writes it from what you did in that ticket on that day: your comments and what you changed. Hover the wand to see whether it can: if you did nothing in the ticket that day, it says so and asks the AI nothing.

Limits

On docket's AI access, docket gives every workspace €5 in tokens a month, shared with reading external costs and writing documents. For booking time that's plenty; an admin sees how much is used under Administration → Integrations → AI. If it isn't enough, let us know at info@docket.rocks or connect your own model. With your own API key there's no limit in docket.

With an AI app

A connected AI app can do the same from Claude or ChatGPT: "What did I work on yesterday? Book it for me."
